Weekend Car Shows & Events Roundup

This 1934 Ford pickup built by the Hot Rod Garage and owned by George Poteet was named the 2011 Truck of the Year Early. Goodguys will be selecting finalists for this and other top awards this weekend at the 20th Lone Star Nationals.

Spend this first weekend of October showing off your latest projects, meeting new customers and supporting local organizations at a car show. Shows being held include Goodguys 20th Lone Star Nationals and the Golden State Street Rod Nationals Plus. Information on these and eight additional shows is listed below. The Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral takes place Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The 2012 Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop takes place Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Mardi Gras Casino and Resort in Nitro, West Virginia. The event will feature cruise-ins, a car show, an automotive swap meet, vendors, live music, a poker run, NSRA safety inspections, a model car show, seminars, competitions, shop tours and an awards presentation. Goodguys presents the 20th Lone Star Nationals Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. The event will feature more than 2,000 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trucks through 1972 competing for awards including the Truck of the Year Early and Late Finalist, and Muscle Machine of the Year Finalist. The event will also include vendor and manufacturer exhibits, a model and pedal car show, a swap meet, the Auto Trader Classic Cars for Sale Corral, Goodguys AutoCross, a track cruise, gatherings, and kids entertainment. NSRA presents the Golden State Street Rod Nationals Plus Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, California. The show will feature 1,300 street rods, customs, muscle cars and street machines. For more information, visit http://nsra-usa.com.

The 37th Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville, Ohio. The event is open 1970-and-older cars and trucks. The Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run & Classic Car Show takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Hutchinson, Kansas. The event kicks off Friday with a show-and-shine, city cruise and parade, vendors, concessions and entertainment. Saturday features a show-and-shine, live auction, vehicle judging, vendors, concessions and live entertainment. The Monmouth County Concours d?Elegance takes place Saturday at Hop Brook Farm in Holmdel, New Jersey. The event will feature 130 historic motorcars and motorcycles on display, and fashion show. Proceeds will benefit Horizons, a non-profit organization helping local underprivileged kids through summer enrichment in math, reading and life skills. The Glenwood Annual Car Show takes place Saturday at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Cooksville, Maryland. The event features a judged car show, silent auction, music, door prizes, music and refreshments. The 16th Annual Cruisin? The Coast begins Sunday in Gulfport, Mississippi.
